LIZ GREGORY T.C.R.G., A.D.C.R.G.

Liz Gregory gained her Teacher’s Certificate in 1983 and her Adjudicator’s Certificate in 1990, with the Irish Dancing Commission Dublin.  She studied with other well known dancers in Dublin, under the tuition of  Maire Walsh A.D.C.R.G.   and excelled in both Exams.  Liz spent a considerable amount time in Ireland and England gaining knowledge and experience with a number of overseas Teachers.   As a young dancer she placed highly in State and National Championships, under the tuition of her mother, Sue Beaton, A.D.C.R.G. (dec) .   Sue emigrated from Ireland as a young adult and started teaching in Canberra in 1952, and after her untimely sudden death in 1980, the Dance Academy has continued under the direction of  Liz  A.D.C.R.G.

Liz  performed at notable events including Canberra Channel 7 TV studios, performed in  scenes of the film “Ned Kelly” starring Mick Jagger (where her mother, Sue,  taught Mick Jagger the Irish Jig for the movie), was the supporting act for Buffey St Marie at the Canberra Theatre, and many  performances at Government House, Embassy of Ireland and Irish Associations in and around Canberra.

In 1985 Liz founded the Liz Gregory Irish Dance Academy, which is a leading Canberra and Australian Irish Dance School.  With her dedication, commitment and determination Liz has nurtured many students to enjoy wonderful and exciting dance experiences through Concerts and Championships – usually up to an age of young adulthood.
